About TextGlitchGenerator.com

A free, privacy-first suite of Unicode text effect tools — built by developers, for everyone.

01 What Is TextGlitchGenerator.com?

TextGlitchGenerator.com is a free collection of browser-based tools for creating glitch text, Zalgo text, vaporwave typography, and other Unicode text effects. Every tool runs entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript — your text is never sent to a server.

There are no accounts to create, no paywalls to hit, and no data to hand over. You type, you copy, you paste. That's it.

02 Why We Built This

We're developers and designers who use glitch text ourselves — for social media posts, creative projects, game interfaces, and generative art. When we went looking for tools, what we found was frustrating: sites plastered with ads, generators limited to a single style, and tools that quietly sent every keystroke to remote servers.

We wanted something better. A fast, clean toolkit with real variety — not just one flavor of "glitchy" but dozens of distinct styles with fine-grained intensity controls. And critically, we wanted it to respect user privacy by keeping everything local in the browser.

TextGlitchGenerator.com is the tool we wished existed. Now it does.

03 Our Tools

Each generator is purpose-built for a specific category of Unicode text effects. Pick the one that fits your project, or explore them all.

04 Our Principles

Three commitments guide how we build and maintain every tool on the site.

🔒

Privacy First

All text processing happens in your browser. We never see, store, or transmit your text. There is no analytics tracking your keystrokes.

Speed & Simplicity

Tools load fast and work instantly — no frameworks, no bloat, no waiting. Lightweight vanilla JavaScript means near-zero overhead.

🎨

Real Variety

Over 20 styles with fine-tuned controls, not a one-size-fits-all generator. Each style is distinct and configurable to match your creative needs.

05 How It Works

All of our text effects rely on Unicode — the universal character encoding standard. Unicode defines not just letters and symbols but thousands of "combining characters" that can be stacked onto any base character to alter its appearance.

Glitch and Zalgo effects work by programmatically attaching these combining diacritical marks (accents, lines, dots) above, below, and through your text. The more combining characters layered, the more distorted the result. Vaporwave effects use a different technique — mapping standard ASCII characters to their full-width or stylized Unicode equivalents.

H̷̡̛e̵̢l̸̨l̶̢o̷̧ — The letter "H" here has multiple Unicode combining characters attached, creating the visual "glitch" effect. It's still just text.

Because these are real Unicode characters — not images or custom fonts — the output works anywhere that supports Unicode: social media, messaging apps, games, emails, and more.
