About TextGlitchGenerator.com
A free set of Unicode text tools that run in your browser. No accounts, no tracking, just stuff that works.
01 What Is TextGlitchGenerator.com?
TextGlitchGenerator.com is a collection of free tools for making glitch text, Zalgo, vaporwave lettering, and other Unicode effects. Everything runs in your browser. Your text doesn't leave your device.
No accounts. No paywalls. Nothing to install. You type, you copy, you paste.
02 Why I Built This
I use glitch text myself. For creative side projects, game UI mockups, social posts. When I went looking for good tools, most of what I found was frustrating: buried in ads, stuck on one style, or quietly shipping every keystroke off to some server.
I wanted something better. Fast, clean, with actual style variety and controls that let you dial in the exact look you're after. And private, because there's no reason a text tool needs to see what you're typing.
So I built it.
03 Who Built This
TextGlitchGenerator.com is built and maintained by the founder of Ready Utilities, a retired U.S. military veteran turned web developer. I've been working on the web since the early 2000s, starting with affiliate marketing and niche site development, which grew into a long-running interest in building small, useful online tools.
On the formal side, I hold a Computer Systems Technician certificate from UEI College, completed the Electro-Mechanical Technologies program at Tulsa Welding School, and finished the Carpentry program at Florida State College at Jacksonville. So when I'm not building web tools, I'm usually in the shop building furniture the old-fashioned way, or out in the garden.
That mix of hands-on and technical work shapes how I build here too. The tools on this site are the kind of thing I'd want to use myself: small, fast, no fluff, and they don't ask for your data.

Three things we care about, and don't plan to change.
Privacy First
Your text stays in your browser. We don't log keystrokes, we don't run analytics on what you type, and there's no server in the loop at all.
Speed & Simplicity
Plain vanilla JavaScript. No React, no build steps, no loading spinners. Open the page and it works.
Real Variety
More than 20 styles, each with its own controls. If you want subtle, you can do subtle. If you want unreadable, you can do that too.
06 How It Works
Everything on the site is powered by Unicode, the standard that defines pretty much every character you see on a screen. Unicode includes thousands of "combining characters": small marks like accents, slashes, and dots that attach to a base letter instead of standing alone.
Glitch and Zalgo effects stack these marks above, below, and through your letters. More marks, more chaos. Vaporwave is a different trick: it swaps each ASCII character for its full-width Unicode twin (the ones originally made for Japanese and Chinese typography).
H̷̡̛e̵̢l̸̨l̶̢o̷̧ The "H" here is just the letter H with a few combining marks layered on top. Still text. Still copy-pasteable.
Because it's all real Unicode, the output works anywhere Unicode does. Twitter, Discord, Instagram, WhatsApp, email, most games. A few older platforms strip heavy stacking, but that's rare these days.
